Iowa City Ambulatory Surgical Center is seeking to fill one 1.0 full-time position in the Perianesthesia department for a Registered Nurse.
This person would be responsible for providing direct patient care in the pre-operative, post anesthesia care unit phase I, and post-operative phase II departments. Applicant must have excellent written and oral communication skills. Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills with patients/families, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary team members. Applicants will also be responsible for contributing to a positive working environment. General computer skills are required.
Qualifications for this position include recent/prior (within the past 5 years) of perianesthesia experience, including PACU (post anesthesia care unit phase I)or equivalent. ACLS certification required, PALS preferred, or must obtain within 90 days of hire.
Hours of operation are Monday-Friday. 8-hour shifts, with weekly rotating hours. The ICASC perianesthesia department also provides staffing for occasional 23hr overnight observation care. Staffing is provided on a rotating basis.
