Dr. Robert D. Thomas grew up in the suburbs of Cleveland Ohio. Dr. Thomas attended Ohio University where he graduated summa cum laude. He was awarded Chemistry Student of the Year at the university. Dr. Thomas continued onto medical school at Ohio State University and graduated cum laude. He was invited to join the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Dr. Thomas attended the University of Iowa in 1999, where he completed his residency training in Otolaryngology and became board certified. Following his residency in 2004, he moved to Chicago where he has practiced medicine for the past 15 years. In 2008, Dr. Thomas received board certification in Sleep Medicine after completing specialized training. Dr. Thomas is enthusiastic to return back to Iowa City after accepting a position with ENT Medical Services in 2020. Dr. Thomas sees patients of all ages with general ear, nose and throat problems, as well as sleep disorders. Dr. Thomas enjoys marathon running, hiking, traveling, watching sports, and spending time with his wife, an Iowa City native, and daughter.
