Dr. Caroline W. Wilson- Cedar Rapids Cornea Specialist and Cataract Surgeon
Caroline W. Wilson, M.D. is a board-certified and fellowship-trained cornea and cataract surgeon. Dr. Wilson specializes in LASIK, cataract surgery and the treatment of ocular diseases and disorders. Dr. Wilson joined Wolfe Eye Clinic in 2022 and sees patients at our Hiawatha (Cedar Rapids) and Iowa City office locations as well as Iowa City ASC.
Dr. Wilson graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Biology at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. She went on to pursue her medical degree at the University of South Alabama, College of Medicine in Mobile, Alabama, followed by an internship with the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics, Department of Internal Medicine.
Dr. Wilson also completed her Residency in the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at the University of Iowa. She was honored to receive the ‘Resident Excellence Award.’ given by the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery Foundation to the residents exhibiting exemplary performance through research, patient care, leadership and education. Dr. Wilson finished her training by completing a Cornea Fellowship at Vance Thompson Vision in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Dr. Wilson is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO), the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, and the Women in Ophthalmology. She has volunteered her time to work with the Operation Sight program through the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery Foundation, a program that serves uninsured Americans who cannot afford or access the eye care they need.
Beyond patient care Dr. Wilson enjoys cooking, hiking, art and traveling. Dr. Wilson grew up in Mobile, Alabama but after spending several years in Iowa for schooling and training, she is excited to provide her services in Iowa and meet many new patients at Iowa City ASC and Wolfe Eye Clinic.
